Screenwriter Mark Waid and artist Alex Ross join forces in Kingdom Come, a tale as beautiful as it is haunting, making the case for superhero comics as a genre starring people of pure soul and intentions as opposed to those who are too much like the enemies they fight. The history of DC Comics is littered with must-have comics that are valuable in their own right, not only for having a definite beginning and end but also for having played a part in the evolution of the medium. Kingdom Come was a turning point that dictated the immediate future of a medium that abandoned the prevailing fashion to return to its origins.
