Photoplay Edition, illustrated with photographic plates from the 1924 silent film titled "A Boy of Flanders" starring Jackie Coogan (Uncle Fester). Written by Louisa de la Rame (Ouida). Original blue cloth over boards binding with titles stamped in brown. Each endpaper illustrated with a different image of Jackie Coogan from the film. From the publisher: "The appealing story of an imaginative little boy, a loving old man, and a great faithful dog, all living together in poverty and love, has been a favorite for many years. The 'Nurnburg Stove,' also included in this volume, is equally well loved by children everywhere. This tale centers around the magnificent stove of colored tile which warmed the hearts as well as the under-fed little bodies of the Stehln children. How, in the end, the stove brought them all great happiness is a delightful and inspiring story." 174 pages. 5.25 x 7.5". Black and white.
