Copyrighted 1886. 1st Edition. The word "Drummer" is 19th Century American slang for a traveling salesman (who would drum/knock at your door). Drummers were well known for telling jokes to clients, with the aim of becoming their friend in order to sell to them. All Drummer's Yarns consists of jokes, funny stories, etc; however, this is a very early example containing mostly prose with some spot cartoons (later they had more cartoon/comic content) and is one of a larger group of comic booklets generally referred to as Drummer's Yarns. Softcover paperback, 5 3/4" x 8 1/8", b&w, 84 pages. Cover price $0.10.
