Volume 6 - 1st printing. "1940!" By Al Capp. The Yokums and their fellow Dogpatchers lose their homes to the Bank and are forced to move to Boston. Also, Daisy Mae becomes a nationwide singing star and Mammy and Pappy receive a hundred year old letter and head to California for the Gold Rush. This sixth volume reprints the 1940 daily strips and includes a story about the first Li'l Abner movie starring Granville Owen and Martha O'Driscoll. Also included is an article that puts the strip into the historical context of 1940 and features a picture of the movie poster depicting the cast on the back cover.
