The implied violence in this cover for "Beware of the Tramp!" is about as extreme as you will see on the cover of a Golden Age comic! And an issue that is very hard to come by, as well!
Cover by Charles Biro. Stories and art by Charles Biro, Norman Maurer, Dick Wood, Bob Wood, Dick Hall, Basil Wolverton, Rudy Palais and Dick Briefer. This early superhero title was one of the comics that made publisher Lev Gleason a major player during the Golden Age. Rhyming reporter Scoop Scuttle is foiled and fooled by the false faces of Stan Dan the Makeup Man, in the final Scoop Scuttle story by comics legend Basil Wolverton. A new phase begins in the saga of The Claw, featuring art by Rudy Palais. The Pirate Prince takes on a corrupt judge who's jailed one of his sailors, in a story with art by Dick Briefer. Daredevil: Meet the Tramp; Sniffer and the Deadly Dozen; Dickie Dean; Scoop Scuttle; The Pirate Prince; Crimebuster: Squeeks Does It Again; The Claw. 60 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
