Direct Edition. First (cameo) appearance of Helmut Zemo as Baron Zemo II in "Yesterday's Shadows!" Script by J.M. DeMatteis. Pencils by Mike Zeck. Inks by John Beatty, Joe Rubinstein (uncredited), and Brett Breeding (uncredited). Cover by Mike Zeck and John Beatty. At the request of Bernie Rosenthal, Steve Rogers attends an anti-nazi rally in Long Island. The demonstration proceeds peacefully until a pro-nazi group shows up. Once violence erupts, the star-spangled avenger jumps into the mêlée to restore order! After everyone has calmed down, Captain America speaks to the crowd. And then and there...Bernie realizes that Cap's voice -- sounds just like Steve Rogers' voice. Meanwhile, Vermin escapes from SHIELD custody, and Sam Wilson (aka the Falcon) announces his intentions to run for Congress. Cameo appearances by Arnie Roth, Gail Runciter, Primus (in disguise), Sarah Wilson, and Peter Parker. (Notes: Helmut Zemo first appeared in Captain America 168 under the nom de guerre of the Phoenix. The DeMatteis-Zeck run on the Captain America title hits its stride with issue 275.) 32 pages. Cover price $0.60.
