Donald Duck's Atom Bomb (#Y1 1947) is the rarest of the Cheerios Premiums. Features Carl Barks art. Due to the atomic bomb theme, Disney will never reprint the Atom Bomb story as presented here in the original, non-censored version. Donald had "got a way picked out to make money - and lots of it!" by selling an "atomic hair-grower" at $1.00 per bottle. A cash register and money in a customer's hand is depicted. In the censored version, Donald has "more than money in mind" and gives away free samples of a normal hair-grower. The word "atomic" is removed from the board, but most noticeable are the cash register being replaced for a pyramid of bottles and the people in the queue having combs in their hands instead of dollar bills. Appearances by: Donald Duck, Huey Dewey and Louie, Professor Mollicule, and Professor Sleezy. Cheerios 1947, 32-page, full color, newsprint promotional comic, 6-7/8 x 3-1/8, Issue #Y1. 32 pages.

Volume 1 - 1st printing. "Go Power!" Collects Atomic City Comics (1994 Black Eye) #1-3. Story and art by Jay Stephens. Imagine a post-modern world where men can fly, the cartoonists who create them show up from time to time, and girls with extraordinary strength sell underarm deodorant, and you'll have a pretty good idea of what things are like in Atomic City. Particularly what it's like for Atomic City's newest super-being, the rough-and-tumble Big Bang. With rockabilly good looks and an overabundance of good-time attitude, Big Bang is pretty fresh to the hero game and to what appears to be unlimited powers. Joining him for his bizarre adventures are the certifiably crazy Quirk, righteously indignant Atomic Girl, and the powerfully attractive Z-Girl. Together, they run afoul of the city's worst criminal gang, run by the devilish, decapitated Doc Phantom. And, with all these newbies causing trouble on the streets, what will Atomic City's greatest hero, The Green Torpedo, have to say about it? It's a chaotic ride through the finest in underground cartooning. Softcover, 160 pages, B&W. Cover price $12.95.

From the glory days of linoleum and wood paneling to innovations in dishwashers, ovens, and washing machines, ATOMIC HOME: A GUIDED TOUR OF THE AMERICAN DREAM remembers the fads, fashions, and inventions of the postwar American dream home. With the war over, soldiers returned home to an unprecedented time of prosperity; the family home, with its white picket fence, became the status quo. Suburbs boomed and keeping up with the Joneses became a way of life for wives and weekend home-improvement warriors. Brimming with vintage illustrated advertisements depicting the "latest" in furniture, bathroom designs, and much more, ATOMIC HOME offers cultural commentary and design inspirations for an era that defined the modern family dwelling.
