by Ted Nomura World War II: 1946 goes where even its predecessor series, Luftwaffe: 1946, did not ? extending to the Pacific Theater and the Russian Front. In this alternate history of World War II, the ripples of change begin decades earlier, with German air ace Hermann Goring killed in 1917, and U.S. Army Captain Harry Truman in 1918. Secret German finds in Mongolia and Antarctica in 1937 and '38 allow Hitler to expand his plans for Earth. In 1940: a cease-fire with England. In 1941: Moscow falls. All the while, the Holocaust kills millions. But the worst turn for the allies comes in May of 1944, when a dress-rehearsal for D-Day ? Operation Tiger ? ends in disaster, and Hitler discovers through captured papers that the Allied plan for invasion is indeed Normandy! With D-Day prolonged into a war of attrition, the war extends to 1946. Now follow this altered conflict through the eyes of our enemies, with "Angels of the Luftwaffe" returning in this issue, and the advanced "Japanese Kamikaze: 1946" missions starting next issue under the title "Born to Die." FC, 20pg$2.50" Cover price $2.50.

by Ted Nomura BORN TO DIE?In April 1945, the Japanese 70,000-ton battleship Yamato, armed with the first experimental atomic bomb, became the ultimate kamikaze on its way to join the Battle of Okinawa. But Yamato was sunk en route by overwhelming American air power. With America's own atomic program delayed, the invasion of Japan commenced in late 1945 with terrible casualties, as predicted, on both sides. By 1946, in their desperation for defense, the Japanese throw everything into their arsenal, including suicide frogmen and schoolkids flying crude rocket kamikazes. FC, 20pg" Cover price $2.50.

by Ted Nomura "Luftpanzer" ? It is April 1946, and the great battle of Operation Jupiter (from the original Luftwaffe: 1946 series) is occurring in South Atlantic near the Falkland Islands. Determined to prevent the Axis from blocking the Drake Passage, the Allies are forced to send the bulk of their fleet to defend it, but the attack is just a decoy. The Axis powers simultaneously conduct Operation Saturn, their biggest airborne campaign on Panama Canal, by attacking from both sides: the Japanese from the south, and the Germans, plus some Italian forces, from the north. The hapless defenders must fight until help arrives. But the Allied fleet, like the Axis forces, is badly mauled and reinforcements are slow in coming. Yet the Allies have one trump card in their sleeves: Colonel Condorcet and his Hunley commandos. Unless, of course, SS Obersturmbannfuhrer Mika Oberlicht and her special Luftpanzer fluggrenadiers can stop them... FC, 20pg" Cover price $2.50.

by Ted Nomura Back from the pages of Luftwaffe: 1946, Col. J.J. Condorcet's special Commando team once again uses their special submarine, the Hunley (named after the Civil War Confederate sub of the same name) to pursue another Nazi carrier, the Potsdam, shortly after concluding their Operation Saturn in 1946. Enroute, the team runs afoul of a special Type XXI U-boat towing a submerged V-2 rocket aimed at Washington D.C., and must divert to stop that. But then an emergency arises and J.J. must hurry off to meet his most dangerous ally, Comrade Birdboy, a.k.a. Yosef Soyuz, to prevent the Soviets from obtaining the Nazi's darkest secret, the Black Holocaust. Accompanying him are the men of the X-Corps, led by Lt. Stoner and Sgt. Morrow. Facing them are their counterparts, Sgt. Blitzer and the Sonderkommando Oberlicht (as in Mika Oberlicht, J.J.'s nemesis), created specially by Hitler to destroy the Hunley Commandos!" by Ted Nomura In December 1941, the same month of the infamous Pearl Harbor attack in real history, the biggest and the most powerful battleship in the world, the IMS Yamato, was secretly commissioned. So secretly, in fact, that most of the people in Japan didn't even know of its existence until after World War II, when it no longer existed! The Yamato was designated as "Special Battleship Number 1" for most of those who actually got to see it during wartime. Only the crew and other special people knew its real name, taken from the old name for Japan and its people in the current province. The Yamato-Damashii, or "Yamato Spirit," is the cause the Japanese used to fight a desperate war; a war that they feared might end the Japanese as a race. With this conviction, the Kamikaze forces threw everything they had against the invading military, including the battleship itself. But in this altered war, the Yamato and her sister ships will fight an even more deadly game, because the United States was unable to prepare their atomic bombs against Hiroshima and Nagasaki. (CAUT: 3) NOTE: Not available in Germany. FC, 20pg" Cover price $2.50.

by Ted Nomura "Tuskegee Airmen"?Celebrating Black History Month, the artist of Tigers of Terra and Luftwaffe: 1946 once again brings you a story of the African-American fighter pilots of World War II, better known as the Tuskegee Airmen, this time in full color! Only recently popularly recognized and appreciated, these brave black aviators not only fought against the Nazis, but also against racism back in America. Also depicted will be the far lesser-known all-black bomber group, the 477th. Unfortunately, in real history, they fought racism without getting the chance to fight against the Axis, but in this World War II: 1946 format, they fight and gain honor that they deserved. As always, extensive research went into this issue, to make this "Altered War" scenario the most accurate to date. FC, 20pg" Cover price $2.50.

by Ted Nomura "Firestorm"?In 1940, at the height of the Battle of Britain, Hitler declared that his Luftwaffe would return every bombing of the Fatherland by the Royal Air Force tenfold. Unfortunately for the citizens of Germany, by 1943, the Allies would drop more bombs in one raid than the Germans did in the entire war, the worst of all being the firestorm that made its debut in Hamburg. When Germany went into full war footing three years after the British, women were recruited to take over the men's former jobs so the men could go to war. One of the most critical and dangerous jobs that the women (mostly teen-aged girls) inherited was firefighting. Hamburg would be bombed 180 times during the war. The firestorms in Dresden and Tokyo would actually be worse, but the brave firefighters would fight to the death against the greatest aerial holocaust in history. And the worst was yet to come... in 1946. FC, 20pg Cover price $2.50.

WORLD WAR II: 1946 #11 by Ted Nomura "Night Witches." In real history, the Soviet Union was the only major country to have its young females fighting as pilots, soldiers, and tank crews. The most famous of all was their 588th Night Bomber Regiment, who flew obsolete biplanes deep into enemy territories, conducting night reconnaissance and combat missions. The Germans called them the "Night Witches." In this issue, Katerina Soyuz returns as a pilot of the 588th on a dangerous mission to rescue Joseph Stalin's son behind enemy lines, not knowing that her mission is already doomed from the start. Cover price $2.50.
