Mike Barnett, who did not carry a gun, was one of the first private-eye heroes on the brand-new medium of television. Mike is hired by a crimelord with tax problems - whether Mike likes it or not - and finds himself caught in the crossfire between rival gangsters. Mike is on vacation upstate when he runs afoul of the local morphine dealers. Before he knows it, he's tied to a boiler that's been rigged to explode.
