Cover by John Devlin. Stories and art by John Devlin. United's anthology series presented a different comic-strip character in every issue. This issue features the early Milt Gross comic strip Looy Dot Dope - specifically, the Sunday strips done by Milt's assistant John Devlin. Looy is a clueless everyman, similar in look and attitude to Dagwood Bumstead. Following the advice of Dr. Stooge, Looy acts on his primal urges, resulting in a spree of slapstick violence against random strangers. Looy annoys beachfront bodybuilders when he can't get his camera to work. In the "topper" strip, Colonel Wowser is like the Monopoly Man crossed with The Simpsons' Montgomery Burns. Looy Dot Dope; Colonel Wowser. 64 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
