Stories by Al Hartley and Milt Gross. Art by Al Hartley and Milt Gross. The Kilroys (Americas Funniest Family!) combined the family humor of the then-new sitcom format with Archie-style teen hijinks featuring Katie, Natch, and pal Solid Jackson. The early covers made use of the Kilroy Was Here joke meme from World War II. Pops Kilroy becomes obsessed with the idea that UFOs are going to abduct the family; Natch tries to convince Solid Jackson to box a pro fighter for $100; Jackson tries to sabotage a music contest between Wilbur and Natch, and accidentally invents freeform jazz (featuring a cameo by jazz legend Tommy Dorsey). Those Flying Discs; Little Big-Mouth; Punchy for Judy; Just an Old Thing; Tricks of the Trade; Kollege Kapers; Trumpet with an Ace!; The Kiddy Katty Korner; Growing Pains; Fewer Words Were Never Spoken! 48 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
