January 17, 1931. The Butterfly (originally "The Comic Home Journal") was a weekly British newspaper of comics and text stories that ran for over 35 years before WWII paper rationing caused it to cease publication in 1940. Some of the humor in these comic strips is "of its time," i.e., racist and offensive. Published in London. 10.75 in. x 14.75 in.; black and white; 8 pages.
