Not approved by the Comics Code Authority (see notes). "And Now, the Goblin!" Part 1 of 3. Script by Stan Lee. Pencils by Gil Kane. Inks by John Romita. Cover by Gil Kane. With Gwen Stacy still in London, Peter Parker gains a new admirer: Mary Jane Watson. Oh boy. How will Mary Jane's sudden interest in Peter affect Harry Osborn? Unfortunately, the short answer is not well. Since Harry is secretly battling a drug addiction. Nevertheless, when Mary Jane makes her off-Broadway debut at a local theater; Peter and Harry attend the show to support her. Interestingly, Norman Osborn also attends the musical. In part because he used to own the building that now houses the theater. During the show Norman fixates on a certain door -- possibly a storage room door -- just off the main hallway. And Peter notices it too. After the show the web-slinger returns to the theater...and discovers his worst nightmare in the flesh: the Green Goblin! Wow! Cameo appearances by Joe Robertson and Randy Robertson. (Notes: This three-part story was not approved by the CCA due to the (anti) drug-themed story. At this time the code did not permit drugs to be mentioned in any fashion. However Stan Lee published the story anyway, and it led to major revisions in the code -- allowing anti-drug stories and horror stories including ones about vampires. The Green Goblin previously appeared in the Spectacular Spider-Man Magazine (1966) #2. Marie Severin provided the layout for the cover. This issue was reprinted in Marvel Tales #77.) 32 pages. "The Spider of the Man?" Script by Stan Lee. Pencils by Gil Kane. Inks by Frank Giacoia and Tony Mortellaro (backgrounds). Cover by John Romita and Frank Giacoia. It's the 100th anniversary issue of the Amazing Spider-Man title -- with an all-time cover! Peter Parker wants to live a normal life with Gwen Stacy. And when he wakes up...he gets the biggest shock of his amazing life! Flashback cameos by Aunt May, J. Jonah Jameson, Betty Brant, Gwen Stacy, and Captain Stacy. (Notes: There have been many homages to John Romita's classic cover including the covers to Marvel Tales 100, Ultimate Spider-Man (2000) 100B, and Peter Parker (2017) #1EBAY. This story was reprinted in Marvel Treasury Edition #14 and Marvel Tales 253.) 32 pages. Cover price $0.15.

First appearance of Morbius the Living Vampire in "A Monster Called Morbius!" Script by Roy Thomas. Pencils by Gil Kane. Inks by Frank Giacoia. Cover by Gil Kane and John Romita. The first 100 issues of the Amazing Spider-Man title are in the books! And the next chapter in the web-slinger's anthology kicks off with the debut of Marvel's first bronze age vampire: Morbius! However at the moment Peter Parker has a much bigger problem on his (six) hands. After drinking the special potion he developed, Aunt May's nephew grew four additional arms! Oh my goodness! Peter is desperate to find a way to remove the arms, so he calls Dr. Curt Connors for help. Dr. Connors has a summer house and laboratory in Southampton on Long Island...and he gives Spider-Man permission to stay there and work on a cure. Meanwhile, a strange, pale, and bloodthirsty man is the sole survivor of a shipwreck near Southampton. And he's looking for a quiet place to rest. Oh no. Is the six-armed Spider-Man on a collision course with a living vampire? Oh yes! Cameo appearances by Gwen Stacy, J. Jonah Jameson, Joe Robertson, and the Lizard. Last 15¢ cover price. (Notes: This is the first issue of the Amazing Spider-Man series not written by Stan Lee. There exists a second printing of this issue published in 1992 with a silver background cover. Marvel also published a facsimile edition of Amazing Spider-Man 101 in 2021.) 32 pages. Cover price $0.15.
