    Volume 1 - 1st printing. "1924-1925!" The Complete Wash Tubbs and Captain Easy by Roy Crane were published by the Flying Buttress Classics Library. Born in 1901 in Abilene, Texas, Royston Crane's creation Wash Tubbs was launched on Monday, April 21, 1924. Widely considered to be one of the first great adventure strips, Wash Tubbs was a small fellow with big spectacles who quickly emerged as a slang-slinging, girl-chasing opportunist. Soon Tubbs would be joined by Captain Easy the classic soldier of fortune. Easy was a wanderer, boxer, cook, aviator, seaman, explorer, and soldier. Gil Kane, before an audience at the San Diego Comic Convention once stated that Superman and Batman were both comparable to Easy. Volume 1 (1924-1925) reprints Crane's classic comic strips with an introduction by Bill Blackbeard. Wash heads to the South Seas in search of buried treasure. Hardcover, (Horizontal Format), 11-in. x 8 1/2-in., 192 pages, B&W. Cover price $32.50.
