Villagers learn the horrifying secret of the basket that Vincent always carries on his shoulder. A gorilla's paw purchased in a strange little shop grants wishes, but at a terrible price. Volume 39, Issue 12 - December, 1955. Maurice Evans photo cover. Theatre Arts Monthly is legendary for its thorough and insightful coverage of the stage, both in American and England. Less well-known is the fact that TAM also provided some outstanding coverage of motion pictures, Broadway and Hollywood. This "Special French Issue" includes a complete version of "Bad Seed" by Maxwell Anderson, as well as articles by Reginald Denham, Byron Bentley, Maurice Zolotow, Hedy Clark, Alice Griffin, more. 8.5" x 11", 100 pages, B&W. Student nurse Joyce faces a choice when she falls in love, as fraternization with handsome doctors is not allowed. Roxy wants to move up in the world, so she uses her beauty as a tool.
