1st printing. Written by Todd Fisher, and Gregory Fremont-Barnes. Foreword by Bernard Cornwell. The Napoleonic Wars saw fighting on an unprecedented scale in Europe and the Americas. From the frozen wastelands of Russia, through the brutal fighting in the Peninsula to the blood-soaked battlefield of Waterloo, this book tells the story of the dramatic rise and fall of the Napoleonic Empire. Action/Viz Media Edition - Volume 2 - 1st printing. Story and art by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. Japan's most controversial anime series is over - but not the manga version of Neon Genesis Evangelion! Not simply a retelling, this manga is anime co-creator Yoshiyuki Sadamoto's personal interpretation of the Evangelion characters and story - sure to intrigue new and old fans alike. The human race nearly ended in 2000 A.D. when a top-secret encounter between an Antarctic expedition and an entity code-named "The Angel" triggered a global catastrophe. Now, in 2015, the Angels have returned, and Shinji Ikari, a fourteen year-old child of the new Earth, is summoned to the super-technological city of Tokyo-3 by his long-estranged father Gendo, and forced without warning to pilot the monstrous biomechanical weapon called "Evangelion" to match the fearsome power of the Angels. Beaten unconscious in his first sortie, only to have the Eva defeat the Angel on its own, Shinji attempts to recover from an encounter he neither understands or remembers, still disregarded by the father from whom he desperately seeks approval. Moving in with his commanding officer, Capt. Katsuragi, Shinji sets out to try and re-start a "normal" life in school... One of the founding members of Gainax, Japan's most progressive anime studio, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto was also the character designer for their recent Adult Swim hit FLCL. Neon Genesis Evangelion Vol. 2 contains a special bonus interview with Sadamoto himself! Softcover, 5-in. x 7-in., 176 pages, B&W. NOTE: These are Japanese manga-style GNs and are meant to be read right-to-left. Cover price $9.95.

Volume 60 - 1st printing. "Israeli F-4 Phantom II Aces!" Written by Shlomo Aloni. Art by Jim Laurier. The American manufactured F-4 Phantom II was used by the Israelis in air-to-ground missions, as an attack aircraft, and air-to-air missions as a fighter. Despite performing both roles with equal success the Israeli reliance on the Mirage III and Nesher delta fighters meant that the F-4 was used most regularly in its air-to-ground role. The kill total of the Israeli F-4 community was, consequently, a modest 116.5; significantly lower than that of other Israeli aircraft types in service between 1969 and 1982. A handful of aces were, nevertheless, created and, using first hand accounts, this unique book tells their stories. Many F-4 pilots had previously flown the Mirage III but most of the navigators were either inexperienced flying school graduates or had been transferred from transport aircraft. The decision to create such teams may have appeared an odd one and it certainly led to a number of interesting experiences but proved, ultimately, to be so successful that by 2010 the Israeli air force will have more two-seat combat aircraft than single-seat fighters. The F-4 experience was, therefore, crucial to moulding the future of the Israeli air force. Softcover, 96 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $22.95.

Volume 4 - 1st printing. "German Airborne Divisions!" By Bruce Quarrie. The German Army of World War II was the first to fully realise the benefits of using airborne troops alongside armoured formations. German Airborne Divisions became an integral part of the blitzkrieg operations that overran much of Western Europe during 1940 and 1941, from the historic raid on the Belgian fortress of Eben-Emael to the pyrrhic victory over British and Commonwealth forces on the island of Crete. This title looks at the creation, evolution, and early operational deployment of the German airborne forces ('Fallschirmtruppe'), through highly detailed orders of battle, TOEs and examinations of crucial aspects such as doctrine, training, command and control, and the concept of vertical envelopment. Softcover, 96 pages, PC/PB&W Cover price $25.95.

Volume 134 - 1st printing. "Cassino 1944!" Written by Ken Ford. Art by Howard Gerrard. The battle for Cassino was probably the most bitter struggle of the entire Italian campaign. The dominating peak of Montecassino crowned by its magnificent but doomed medieval monastery was the key to the entire Gustav Line, a formidable system of defences that stretched right across the Italian peninsula. This position completely dominated the Liri valley and Route 6, the strategically vital road to Rome. Between January and May 1944 the Allies struggled amid inhospitable terrain and dreadful weather to dislodge the German paratroops that tenaciously defended the vital mountaintop. Ken Ford's book details the dramatic events of the battle to break the Gustav Line. Softcover, 96 pages, PC/PB&W Cover price $19.95.

Volume 60 - 1st printing. "The Spanish Invasion of Mexico 1519-1521!" By Charles M Robinson III. The Spanish conquest of Mexico was the most remarkable military expedition in history, and in achieving it, Hernan Cortes proved himself as one of the greatest generals of all time. This book explains the background of the Aztec Empire and of the Spanish presence in Mexico. It describes the lives of the Aztecs in their glittering capital and of the Europeans who learned to adapt and survive in an alien and often dangerous world. The invasion was a war between civilizations, pitting the fatalism and obsessive ritual of the Aztecs against soldiers fighting for riches, their lives, and eventually their souls. Softcover, 96 pages, PC/PB&W Cover price $19.95.

Volume 407 - 1st printing. "The German Army in World War I (2)!" Written by Nigel Thomas. Art by Ramiro Bujeiro. The years 1915-17 saw the Imperial German Army forced to adapt to the new realities of static trench warfare. Prewar uniforms and equipment had to be modified, for both utility and economy; on battlefields ruled by machine guns and artillery the steel helmet reappeared, as well as masks to protect against poison gas. Fashionable cavalry regiments soon proved irrelevant on the Western Front; many were dismounted to join the infantry, while new units usurped their prestige assault battalions, and the air corps. This second volume in a three-part sequence offers vast detail on organisation, uniforms and insignia, illustrated with rare photographs and meticulous colour artwork. Softcover, PC/PB&W.

Volume 408 - 1st printing. "Warriors at the Little Bighorn 1876!" Written by Richard Hook. Art by Richard Hook. The battle which took place on the Little Bighorn river on June 25, 1876 has passed into legend as "Custer's Last Stand". This remarkable book is a unique analysis of the oral and pictorial evidence for the appearance of nearly 30 named Sioux and Cheyenne warriors who were present that day, and for their parts in the battle. The fruit of many years' study by one of today's most internationally respected interpreters and illustrators of Native American material culture, it offers biographical notes and meticulously researched color reconstructions, together with rare photographs and pictographs.
