First edition, first and only printing, 2001. Written by Brian Nicholson. Chronicles Nicholson's exciting boyhood adventures and his career as a game warden during the heyday of the East African safari. His years growing up on a farm in Kenya before World War II and the exciting characters he met are told with verve and a matter-of-fact voice. He was famous for his efforts to eradicate the man-killing lions and leopards in the area. After 22 years and killing more than 30 of these menaces, he became the acknowledged expert in this macabre field. Nicholson was instrumental in the formation of the Selous Reserve in Tanzania, Africa's biggest wildlife area, which he patrolled entirely on foot for months at a time and eventually helped open to hunting in 1965. Profusely illustrated with period photographs from his collection. Also includes a fold-out color map of the area measuring approximately 14-in. x 16-in. Enclosed in a sturdy slipcase. Book is signed from a limitation of 1,000 copies. No dust jacket as issued, bound in light blue cloth. A quality production. Hardcover, 8 3/4-in. x 11 1/4-in., 324 pages, B&W.

Written and Illustrated by: Renee French
What's under the bed? Who's casting that shadow outside my window? Common questions children ask themselves at night? But what if, instead of those rather innocuous queries, the child asks things like: What's inside this bunny that makes him move? What if I put a raisin in a dead man's nose? If I leave the paw of a deceased mole in the sun, will it grow sprouts like potatoes? This is the world of Renee French, who's independent comic book stories have been disturbing readers and provoking reactions since the early 90s. This hefty collection is the first major volume of her work to be published anywhere. It's a comprehensive retrospective, examining French's versatility and the spectrum of her career. Through horror, psychedelia, and ultimately, a skewed approach to conventional storytelling, French gets to the dark middle of the human psyche, crafting a truly unique comic-book experience.
Softcover, 6 1/2-in. x 10 1/2-in., 232 pages, B&W.

2nd and Later Printings. 2001. Written by Richard Marius. Few figures in history have defined their time as dramatically as Martin Luther. And few books have captured the spirit of such a figure as truly as this robust and eloquent life of Luther. A highly regarded historian and biographer and a gifted novelist and playwright, Richard Marius gives us a dazzling portrait of the German reformer--his inner compulsions, his struggle with himself and his God, the gestation of his theology, his relations with contemporaries, and his responses to opponents. Focusing in particular on the productive years 1516-1525, Marius' detailed account of Luther's writings yields a rich picture of the development of Luther's thought on the great questions that came to define the Reformation. 5.5" x 9". 542 pages of text and 16 pages of B&W illustrations.
