One-shot issue of a comic book version of the long running comic strip Gil Thorp, the coach at Milford High School. Comic has book length story in which Gil Thorp is unexpectedly appointed as the coach of the Milford High School's varsity baseball team and has to contend with uncooperative and spoiled players, an interfering parent, gamblers, and more as he tries to get the team to work together and win. No art/story credits given but Jack Berrill, the creator, writer, and artist of the Gil Thorp comic strip had nothing to do with the comic nor was it sanctioned by the Chicago Tribune Syndicate which owns Gil Thorp. Volume 7 - 1st printing. "July, 1963" Collects Sad Sack, Casper, Little Dot and eleven more Harvey titles, all from July, 1963. These volumes are some of the earliest examples of Collected Comics. Companies, like Harvey, would archive their material by taking all the issues they released that month and having them bound into hardcover book format. The issues come complete with front and back covers and interiors. They were trimmed down perfectly to fit the hardcover format. These are extremely rare items.
