"Shadow on the Land!," script by Len Wein, art by Herb Trimpe; A group of army personnel are transporting several canisters of toxic waste from Chicago en route to Tulsa, Oklahoma; The truck runs afoul of the Hulk and the canisters open, inundating the Hulk in radioactive chemicals; These chemicals alter the Hulk's gamma-warped aura; This alteration is noticed by a two-dimensional alien warlord known as Kaa, the Living Shadow; Taking control of the Hulk's shadow, Kaa assumes all of the brutes strength and savagery; They battle one another throughout the course of the day, but as night time approaches, flood lights from a nearby oil field are turned on, and Kaa is bathed in intense light; The light dispels Kaa's form and he disappears, seemingly destroyed.
