Fantastic Four (1961 1st Series) Golden Record Reprint 1COMIC CBCS 7.5 Comic Only Variant
Paper: White
Golden Records Reprint.
Label #22-080A578-005
Starts Jun 10 COMIC ONLY, NO RECORD - The Fantastic Four Golden Record Reprint (28-pages, full-color, standard comic format) was produced in 1966 and reprints Fantastic Four #1. Although the reprint, at first glance, looks like the original, there are differences. There is no cover price on the reprint, and the back cover, as well as the inside covers, promote the Golden Record LP series of which the Fantastic Four #1 is a part. The four Marvel Golden Record LPs came with a reprint comic, and each originally sold for $2.49 (record and comic together). In addition to the Fantastic Four LP, there were records produced for Thor (Journey into Mystery #83), Avengers #4; and Amazing Spider-Man #1, all with their own reprint comic. We bought these sets when they first appeared and can still remember following the story in the comic reprint while the record played and the narrator read the story to us. Just to make sure we didn't lose our place, he would say "Turn page," each time he finished the last panel on a page.

Prowling Greenwich Village's streets, Dan hears the cry of one of Deathwatch's victims and transforms into Ghost Rider. Deathwatch calls upon Hag and Troll to " tenderize" Snowblind, but their torture is cut short when Ghost Rider crashes in. Ghost Rider dispatches both soul-stealers, while Deathwatch drains the life from Snowblind. Not yet sated, Deathwatch turns to Ghost Rider, and they battle. Deathwatch breaks one of Ghost Rider's ribs and beat him with it, taunting him over his unwillingness to kill. Ghost Rider reminds Deathwatch that his reluctance to kill only applies to humans and punches into Deathwatch's chest. Deathwatch swells and explodes, with the blast destroying the building's top floor. Ghost Rider emerges from the rubble, wondering what the future holds now that so many of his foes are dead. 32 pages, FC. Cover price $1.75.

Starts Jun 10 "You Can't Go Home Again!" Written by Howard Mackie. Art by Ron Wagner and Mike Witherby. Stern announces to the Firm's technicians that Blackout will deliver Ghost Rider to them, in return for restoring his facial features. That night, the Firm releases Blackout from Evergreen Hospital. After killing a Firm surveillance team, Blackout calls Dan and taunts him, threatening to kill someone close to him, and if Ghost Rider shows up, all his loved ones will die. Elsewhere, angered over Blackouts release, the Firm orders Stern to return with Blackout, or suffer excruciating pain. Dan arrives at Stacy's too late to protect the Dolan's, and Blackout lures him back home, where he has also captured Francis and Jack. Their fight leads to the cemetery, where blackout slits Dan's throat. Dan's spirit watches his body transform into Ghost Rider. Blackout panics and runs, but Ghost Rider pursues. Stern appears and attempts to recapture Blackout, but Ghost Rider arrives, ready to punish both villains. When the task force's helicopter arrives, Ghost Rider leaves, with Stern and Blackout in tow. The next morning, a police search fails to find Ghost Rider, who is hiding in a crypt with the Cypress Hills Joker' s help. He uses part of his chain to seal Blackout and Stern in a coffin. Afraid to risk Dan's life by transforming, he decides to leave for New Orleans, and seek the help of Johnny Blaze. 32 pages, FC. Cover price $2.75.

Starts Jun 10 Unbagged. Direct Edition. Rise of the Midnight Sons: Part 6 of 6 - Guest-starring Nightstalkers, Blade, Frank Drake, Hannibal King, Morbius and Doctor Strange. Written by Howard Mackie. Art by Andy Kubert and Joe Kubert. Story continued from Nightstalkers (1992) #1. Danny Ketch's spirit walks a path between dimensions seeking to return to life. Meanwhile, after an unsuccessful battle against the Midnight Sons in Boston, the demon Lilith orders her offspring Portal to teleport her and her Lilin children to Greenland, and the remains of the Leviathan within which Atlantean sorcerers trapped her for millennia. Once there, Lilith begins a spell to return the rest of her long-lost Lilin to earth. Having detected her actions, Dr. strange gathers the Midnight Sons, teleporting them to the Leviathan site. As they attacked the Lilin, Lilith opens in interdimensional rift in her own body, and reaches in, snatching Dan sold from the void and pulling it to Earth, transformed into a monstrous Lilin. Filled with battle lust, he attacks both sides until Ghost Rider restrains him, then throws him back through the rift. The Midnight Sons slay almost all the Lilin, and Ghost Rider forcibly folds Lilith into her own body's rift, causing her to seemingly explode. After the Sons depart, the sole surviving Lilin, Nakota, emerges from the snow; Lilith appears, and needing sustenance to restore herself, devours her child, vowing the Lilin will be reborn and destroy the Midnight Sons. 32 pages, FC. In Cypress Hills Cemetery Ghost Rider stops a man from murdering a woman, disabling him with the penance stare. The man, a serial killer, is left reeling as he experiences his victims agonies, but moments later is slain by a raggedly clothed ninja; a gang vandalizing the cemetery later suffers the same fate. Dan is at home reassuring his mother that his decision to move out is unrelated to his recently learning he was adopted, when he catches Linda Wei reporting the discovery of the gang's bodies. Scared Blackout may be back, Dan goes out hunting, passing by chance under an elevated train where the ninja is slaughtering his latest targets. Alerted by blood pouring down, Dan tries to change, but nothing happens; Dan rides up onto the tracks, and, as the train passes by Cypress Hill Cemetery, he jumps from his bike onto the train, watching the motorcycle fall to the cemetery below. Encountering a wounded commuter, Dan spontaneously transforms into Ghost Rider and he confronts the ninja, learning his opponent is the Deathwatch agent seemingly slain long before; as they fight, the ninja reveals he really serves another master, he promises is coming for Ghost Rider. The flaming-skulled hero punches the ninja off the train, which runs over the killer. Dan returns to the cemetery for his bike, and finds it held by the mysterious Caretaker; to Dan surprise, the Caretaker knows of his alter ego, and tells Dan that he is wrong to believe innocent blood needs to be spilled to trigger his transformation. Promising they will see more of one another in coming days, the Caretaker departs, leaving Dan desperate answer. 32 pages, FC. Cover price $1.75.

The demonic succubus visits Henry Bronson, sleeping in a Hell's Kitchen homeless shelter, feeding off his life force as a prelude to targeting ghost rider. Meanwhile, in Caretaker's basement Dan and Caretaker watch Suicide's skeleton healing. Dan leaves to head home, but is attacked outside by Succubus; transforming into Ghost Rider, he drives her off, then changes back to Dan. At that moment a weakened Succubus tries to drain a derelict outside the shelter, but Daredevil intervenes. She flees inside, choosing to feed off the Zabo instead, inadvertently triggering his change in to Hyde, and he throws her out the window. Witnessing this, Daredevil scoops up the stunt Succubus and flees, with Hyde pursuing. Dan spots the running battle, but it struck by flying debris, and when Hyde turns his attention towards the fallen biker, Daredevil drop Succubus to defend Dan. As Hyde and Daredevil clash, Succubus attacks Dan, who changes back and forth to Ghost Rider as she drains him. Leaping away from Hyde, Daredevil targets Succubus, and when Hyde tries to attack them both, Ghost Rider intercepts; unfazed by Hyde's blows, Ghost Rider ends the bout with his penance stare, then becomes Dan again.
