A Fortune in Two Old Trunks (undated, estimated 1955) is a promotional comic book distributed by SunSweet Prunes. "A Fortune In Two Old Trunks" starts with the story of Louis Pellier, a Frenchman who introduced the French prune to California in 1856, then illustrates how prunes are grown, harvested, dried and packaged for good eating across the country. There are stats galore about "The Valuable Prune," including its top rank as a source of Vitamin A and crucial minerals, and a page about the California Prune and Apricot Growers Association and the farmer cooperative that grows Sunsweet Prunes. The back cover illustrates four ways to prepare prunes. 16 pages, full color, 6-7/8in. x 10-in., all newsprint, no cover price.
