Picture Play Magazine, originally titled Picture-Play Weekly was an American weekly published magazine centered around the movie industry during the golden-age of Hollywood. It was one of the earliest published tabloid style magazines that focused on celebrity gossip, but also included behind-the-scenes content, and movie reviews. It was first published on April 10, 1915, and ultimately transitioned from a weekly to a monthly publication before the end of it's production run in late 1941 after merging with Charm Magazine. This issue features an expose on Lon Chaney (Hunchback of Notre Dame 1923, Phantom of the Opera 1925) titled "Behind Lon Chaney's Mask" with insights into the character of the man himself. Other celebrities featured include Blanche Sweet, Chester Conklin, Joan Crawford, Margaret Livingston, more. 8.5" x 11", 98 pages, B&W.
