Manipulative Jane is allowed to run the company after her boss has a nervous breakdown, but her machinations quickly alienate both her boss and her boyfriend. Nurse Bess helps addicted ex-patient Stan get morphine, and her life is all downhill from there, in an early look at opioid abuse (not typical of most 1950s romance comics, but Life Story featured crime-romance stories in its later run). Helen loses her job after helping Don with a credit scam, and faces a choice after he gets out of prison. Carla manages to fake the will of her elderly benefactor, not realizing that her handsome military son Doug would return after being MIA, or that she would fall in love with him.
