She marries her teacher, Michael. They go to work on a roadshow tour. Nancy becomes jealous of Michael's relationship with star Karen, but when Karen leaves the show to get married, Nancy plays the leading part and is a success. Michael apologizes for neglecting her. Plus: "Man Crazy" with art by Ken Landau - The "flirtatious and party seeking" Joan has many boyfriends and wants to find a rich husband, while her "pretty but homey" sister Connie is happy with Andy. Joan rejects the lecherous Marty and decides to steal Andy from her sister. Insanely jealous Marty catches Andy and Joan on a date and tries to kill them, but dies himself in an automobile accident. To reunite Connie and Andy, Joan pretends he was nothing but a passing fling to her. She hopes to find real love herself, some day. Also: "Mama's Girl" with art by Marty Elkin - Carol feels suffocated by her widowed mother, who manages the personnel department of the store where they both work, and encourages Carol to date only men who have bright futures. Carol falls in love with store employee Mike Harrison but her mother disapproves and has Mike fired. Carol decides to marry him and move to the new town where Mike now works, over the objections of her mother (who has now lost her own job due to her domineering ways). And: "Meant for Marriage" with pencils by Herb Familton - Susan refuses to marry Ted before his overseas military deployment, fearing he'll be killed. They break up. Vivian, a lady on a nearby park bench, tells Susan the story of her long-ago romance with Jim. She wanted to wait to marry until Jim finished law school and became successful. Vivian turns down other suitors, but Jim never comes back and one day she learns he married someone else. A lifelong spinster now, Vivian urges Susan to marry Ted right away and the young couple is happily reunited. After they're gone, Vivian greets her long-time husband, Jim. She lied! Bart arrives to take Dolly home and tells her they are through. Plus: "Love Thief" with art by Marty Elkin - Terry lives with her older sister Laura and Laura's husband Frank. Frank can't find a job so he's around the house all day while Laura works to support them. Terry and Frank fall in love but Terry feels guilty and breaks off their romance, even though she still loves him. Frank gets a job and his relationship with Laura improves. Terry decides to move out and begins to date an old school friend. Also: "Love Lesson" with art by Tewks - Jean's roommate Marylin is much more glamorous than she, and steals Jean's boyfriend Jack. Jean, Marylin, Jack, and Jack's friend Peter spend a weekend in a mountain cabin. Marylin decides to dump Jack for the wealthy Peter, whom Jean finds attractive. Peter says he'll play along with Marylin so Jack will see how fickle she is, and Jean can win Jack back. The plan works, except Jean doesn't want Jack, she wants Peter, and gets him in the end. And: "Love Is the Prize" with art by Tewks - Ronnie wins a singing contest in her hometown and moves to New York to take singing lessons from Paul. She leaves behind her boyfriend Mike. When Paul says he's attracted to her, Ronnie explains about Mike and Paul accepts this. However, Mike arrives unexpectedly and mistakenly thinks Ronnie loves Paul; he breaks their engagement and leaves. Ronnie realizes Paul is the one she loves after all. She dates Jim, a wealthy doctor 16 years older than her, over her sister Myra's objections. Jim and Terry get along well, but Myra has Jim pretend to be broke so Terry will break up with him. Myra tells Terry she wants Jim for her own. Terry realizes she loves Jim whether he's rich or not, and they reconcile. Plus: "Faith in Their Love" with art by Tewks - Jean and Bob fall in love but he's sent overseas on military duty for two years. His friend Hal, stationed with Bob, starts to correspond with Jean, and also intercepts Jean's letters to Bob and vice versa. When he's discharged, Bob confronts Jean and they discover Hal's dirty tricks. Hal gets a punch in the nose and Jean and Bob reconcile. Also: "Private Affair" with art by Tewks - Janie marries high school teacher Peter and soon becomes irritated at his low pay and heavy workload. She convinces her father to give Peter an executive position in his business, although Peter really prefers teaching. This new job improves their finances but Peter has even less time for Janie. She starts dating George, another employee of the firm. Peter asks for a divorce and returns to teaching. Janie realizes she truly loves Peter and doesn't want to change him. And: "Party Girl" with art by Marty Elkin - Unemployed Peg's roommate Ginnie convinces her to take a job as a "party girl," escorting visiting businessmen. Peg is humiliated when private detective Richie suspects her of stealing money from her clients, but they eventually fall in love. However, Richie's work makes him break dates with Peg and she agrees to go to another party. Her "date" gets fresh and she pushes him. The man hits his head and is knocked out. Richie helps clear Peg of any blame and they reconcile. Plus: 1-page text stories "Old Flame" and "Now or Never"! 32 pages, full color. Cover price $0.10.
