    Gravediggers (1996) 1

"Magic Bullet" - When someone turns up dead in New York City, the police are called in to investigate. When the police fail to turn up any leads, they call the Gravediggers. What makes these guys so special? The Gravediggers is what the men and women of the NYPD call a special unit that turns unsolved murders into arrests that stick. It's not necessarily a compliment, as the Gravediggers often show where their fellow officers missed a crucial clue, or overlooked an incriminating connection. And the best of this crew is a detective named Marc Cohen. As the son of a partner in a prestigious law firm, Marc had every opportunity to jump from law school into the lap of luxury. Marc chose to leave behind the silver spoon and dive into the seedy world of law enforcement, tracking down killers who have outwitted the cops. On his latest case, Marc may regret that decision, as he tries to solve the puzzle of two corpses separated by two decades, but connected by one eerie similarity: bullet wounds with no exit mark, and no bullet found. While the Gravediggers deal in matters of anything but Black and White, the only way this story could be told is in stark, high-contrast Black and White. Written by Mark Moretti, with art by Mark Moretti and Rodney Ramos. Suggested for Mature Audiences. B&W, 32 pgs. Cover price $2.95.

    Gravediggers (1996) 2

"The Wrong Man" - As the Gravediggers' investigation heats up, so does the tension between detectives Marc Cohen and Vinnie Colozzo. Cohen has some crazy ideas about how Jean Colbert was murdered, and the fact that he may be right doesn't cut any ice with Colozzo. With officials at the French Embassy stonewalling, Cohen may not get confirmation of his theories any time soon -- unless he can get someone to talk. Meanwhile, Cohen's relationship with girlfriend Connie takes a turn for the worse. And somewhere in the city, Colbert's killer is waiting...and watching Cohen and Colozzo -- could they be next on his hit parade? Written by Mark Moretti, with art by Mark Moretti and Rodney Ramos. Suggested for Mature Audiences. B&W, 32 pgs. Cover price $2.95.

    Gravediggers (1996) 3

"Losses Unknown" - The INS is deporting Cohen's star witness and the French Embassy has filed an harassment complaint against the Gravediggers. Witnesses' stories don't mesh. A photograph and a sheaf of twenty-year-old papers from the hand of a dead man may provide answers...but only if Cohen and Colozzo can get hold of them in time! The lines between public lives and private passions blurs: Cohen's zeal for his work may be destroying his relationship with Connie, and his private demons may keep him from seeing clues that are right before him. Can Cohen clear his head -- long enough to save a young woman's life? Written by Mark Moretti, with art by Mark Moretti and Rodney Ramos. Suggested for Mature Audiences. B&W, 32 pgs. Cover price $2.95.

    Gravediggers (1996) 4

"Love & Bullets" - If Cohen and Colozzo thought that finding Colbert's daughter would get them answers to his murder, they were wrong. Maybe dead wrong. Jeanne Colbert can help them follow her father's decades-old trail of blackmail, deceit and espionage, but none of them know who's waiting at the end of that trail. It may be someone close -- very close -- to Roche, to Jeanne, to Colbert himself. Cohen will need all his street-savvy, and that elusive instinct he has for what's at the center of a crime, to unsnarl the mystery. And time is running out... Written by Mark Moretti, with art by Mark Moretti and Rodney Ramos. Suggested for Mature Audiences. B&W, 32 pgs. Cover price $2.95.
