Volume 1 - 1st printing. Story, art and cover by Chic Young, plus a foreword by J.V. Connolly. A collection of 100 Blondie comic strips from 1938 - 1944. The classic domestic comedy strip that inspired a series of movies and even a sandwich shop. Former flapper Blondie tries to adjust to a settled suburban existence with her new husband, Dagwood Bumstead. Each one-page strip has a title added for this edition. Dagwood's method for smoothing his hair back doesn't win Blondie's approval; Blondie experiences empty-nest syndrome when "Baby Dumpling" grows up into schoolboy Alexander; Blondie gets jealous when Dagwood rescues a lady swimmer. Also featuring an introduction by J.V. Connolly, president of King Features Syndicate. Hardcover (with Dust Jacket), 6-in. x 7 1/2-in., 124 pages, B&W. Cover price $1.00.
