Comic Collectibles catalog for Christie's auction house in New York City held on November 18th, 1995. Catalog No. 7809 is from the first ever Marvel auction held by Christie's and they didn't skimp on the talent. They brought out legends Joe Simon, Dick Ayers, Chic Stone, Joe Sinnott, John Romita, John Severin, John Buscema, George Roussos, Dave Cockrum, and Herb Trimpe, who all contributed original art, recreating some of their most iconic covers especially for this auction. In addition to those masterpieces, there is plenty of other wow! factor to browse through - from original storyboards used in the making of animated Marvel Films, to MMMS merchandise, and even...a kick-butt custom Ghost Rider Motorcycle from Harley Davidson. Almost 250 items in all. It is too late to bid on these items, of course, but this catalog still works as a wonderful art book. 8.25-in. x 10.5-in.; color; 98 pages; slick white paper with heavy covers; squarebound. A first-rate production.
