However, during the battle that ensued, StormWatch learned the secret identity of the man who helped facilitate the entire deadly chemical exercise – the mad ex-StormWatch Weatherman, Henry Bendix! 32 pages, FC. A Finer World: Part 2 of 3 – Written by Warren Ellis. Art and cover by Bryan Hitch and Paul Neary. Amidst a deserted waterfront district, two sup-enhanced individuals named Apollo and The Midnighter leap into action and prevent an arms deal from going down. Investigating further, they uncover high-tech rifles that use human brains as a component, as well as a survivor of their attack who informs them that the guns came from The Nevada Garden. Meanwhile, high above the Earth and aboard the StormWatch orbital space station, Christine Trelane (Synergy) digs through former Weatherman Henry Bendixs private files hoping to unlock some long buried secrets. Shockingly, she discovers that five years ago, at a time when StormWatch was operating its Academy training program to groom new field agents, Bendix was running a recruitment program of his own secretly off to the side. Bendix assembled seven super enhanced individuals, creating his own top secret team. The roll call included Impetus, Amaze, Lamplight, Stalker, and Crow Jane…as well as the aforementioned Apollo and The Midnighter. However, from the files, Christine also learns that this teams very first mission went disastrously wrong – and that five bodies were ultimately accounted for. Christine reports the bad news to current Weatherman Jackson King. In short, there are two previously unknown super-powered StormWatch field operatives now running rogue on Earth below! 32 pages, FC. Cover price $2.50.
