Star-Studded Comics #14, December 1968. Format: Offset/Lithograph process. Wrap-around binding with staples in center. Original price was 75 cents - second price increase for the comic. Star-Studded Comics started at 35 cents. It increased to 50 cents on issue #4. Color cover by Sam Grainger features the Astral Man. Back cover by Howard Keltner features the Defender. "Let's Talk It Over!" column notes the increase to 52 pages with this issue. It also notes that they have back issues of numbers 7, 12, and 13 - all others have sold out; it does not have any note regarding the press run of this issue. A detailed article and photos on the Southwestern Con 1968 comic convention held in Texas is in this issue. Stories include the Astral Man versus The Adder (2nd appearance of the Astral Man, 1st app. was issue #1.), comic story with script by Howard Keltner and art by Sam Grainger. "Till Time and Times Are Done," comic story with script and art by Steve Kelez. The Defender appears in "Menace of the Assassin," comic story with script by Raymond Miller and Larry Herndon, and art by Howard Keltner and Mickey Schwaberow. "Excel - Man of the Future," comic story with script and art by Ronn Foss. Robert E. Howard's "Gods of the North!" AKA "The Frost Giant's Daughter," probably the first legal comic book adaptation of a story by Conan creator Robert E. Howard. This adaptation was scripted by Larry Herndon and penciled by Steven Kelez, "and a host of others," and inked by Alan Hutchinson. Star-Studded 18 - Summer 1972(LAST ISSUE) Issue titled just "Star Studded" - no "Comics" in the title. Format: offset lithograph process Original price was 75 cents. Price drop by 25 cents as compared to last issue. Only issue in which the cover is NOT in color. Cover and the pages in the center of the book are on a light-blue colored paper. Front cover is by Steve Fritz and back cover is by Raymond B. W. Wong This is the final issue of Star-Studded Comics. It was printed on newsprint paper and bound with glue instead of staples. "Let's Talk It Over!" column has letters from Gardner F. Fox, Al Christensen, Harry Warner Jr., Bill Schelly, and Kent Russell. Column also notes that Jim Starlin and Dave Cockrum, who have work in this issue and previous issues, recently became professionals "for the comic publishers in NYC." Also notes that Dr. Weird now has his own comic and that issues one and two are available for 35 cents each. There is a full page ad for issue number two in this issue.
