Stories by unknown. Art by Tom Feelings, Ed Smalle and unknown. "Dread Past" - Young nurse Alice becomes a "wild-eyed, frenzied dope addict" through the influence of Jack. They're both arrested and sent to prison; after a year, Alice is released and moves to a small town where the local hospital desperately needs nurses. She falls in love with Mark, the hospital director and head surgeon. Jack is brought into the hospital for emergency surgery and dies on the operating table. Alice thinks she subconsciously killed him. She admits her past to Mark. Mark says he still loves her and Jack died as a result of his wounds. Plus: "Blues" with art by Tom Feelings - Singer Ellen is coached by pianist Roy and they become a popular musical act and also fall in love. Ellen leaves the act when offered a Broadway job, despite Roy's warning that she isn't ready. Failing on Broadway, Ellen is forced to perform in sleazy dives. One day, Roy shows up to accompany her. He also rescues her from the lecherous club manager. Roy and Ellen restart their career and romance. Also: "Love Bait" with art by Ed Smalle - Jane learns her brother Rob is returning after 2 years' military service. She discovers Rob's girlfriend Ann has fallen in love with Bart in the meantime. Bart isn't serious about Ann, so Jane pretends to fall for him to cause a break-up. Rob and Ann arrive and catch Bart and Jane together. Jane's plan works: Bart is sent packing, and Rob and Ann get married. And: "Gang Moll" with art by Ed Smalle - Meg is a nightclub hatcheck girl whose boss Rico constantly propositions her. She really loves police detective Tim, but they can't get married until he receives a promotion. Proving Rico is a crime boss would solve the problem. Meg pretends to break up with Tim and becomes Rico's girlfriend. She tips off the police to the gang's activities but Rico learns of this and sets up an ambush. Meg is wounded while warning Tim and his men of the trap. Rico is arrested and Meg marries Tim at last. Plus: 2-page text story "Forgetfulness" by Edwin Green with illos by Don Heck. Also: untitled Today's Problem 1-pager (by unknown) - Over her parents' objections, Mary elopes with Ken. He proves to be a bad husband and they divorce, leaving her with an infant child to care for.
