GI Jane is part of the WACs (Women's Army Corps), allowing her cartoonists, Hal Seeger and Bill Williams, to combine military humor with plentiful good-girl art. First issue published by Merit. Although misdated as March 1954, this issue was actually published in March 1955. Jane tries to hide a horse in the barracks, and accidentally strips Katie to her slip in the process. Jane gets amnesia after saluting with an iron in her hand and knocking herself unconscious. Jane smells trouble when her old romantic rival Gloria gets promoted to corporal. First issue with the Comics Code seal on the cover, but the quantity of good-girl art is the same as previous issues.
