Discerning that the girl is rich, Mr. Gillis agrees to fund the purchase. Dobie, who has never ridden a horse, regales Clarissa with tales of his enthusiasm. Maynard, who has never ridden a horse, stands by to assist. Then, an impending hurricane cancels the fox hunt.
