This item is not in stock at MyComicShop. If you use the "Add to want list" tab to add this issue to your want list, we will email you when it becomes available.
This is the original 1945 edition published by McCay Features Synidicate. It can easily be confused with the 1969 reprint published by Nostalgia Press. In all essential features, the two editions are identical so collectors need to be aware that any copy they encounter is most likely the reprint. Wider than it is tall, this comic is is 11-in. x 7-in., two-tone black and brown ink cover with black and white interior pages, reprinting 14 classic Windsor McKay Sunday pages from 1905 to 1911. 1945 Edition. Introduction (13 August 1945) by author August Derleth. NOTE: Overstreet states that the original 1945 edition and the 1969 reprint are identical. However, the 1969 edition does have 36 pages (counting covers), so the 1945 edition, which Overstreet says has 24 pages, would be smaller at 24 pages assuming covers were not counted, or even at 28 pages if covers are added to the page count. Our guess is that both editions have 36 pages

In space, no one can hear you frag. By popular demand, Lobo hits the comic shops in his very own ongoing monthly series, without a 'Suggested for Mature Readers' label! Now everyone can get in on the action and fun month after month. It's the Lobo series you've been clamoring for - an action-packed fragfest, brimming over with good-natured gratuitous violence and twisted humor. The series gets under way with Lobo out on a typically destructive night on the town. What follows is a stop at Al's Diner for a few brews with some appalling violence, and then a trip to the local bounty office where the Main Man takes an assignment to bring in Qigly, the universe's most feared, loathed and powerful...accountant. Things take an ugly turn when Lobo meets heavy opposition from the Dead Boys, a bunch of bastiches with their own reasons for holding onto Qigly. Written by Alan Grant, with art and foil-embossed cover by Val Semeiks and John Dell. New Format. Cover price $2.95.

Looney Laws (1947), by Dick Hyman with illustrations by O. Soglow, was published by the Arpy Book Co., Inc. Forward by Jack Benny. This humorous book is filled with outlandish and oft absurd laws. It starts with Alabama and proceeds alphabetically through New Mexico. Some of these Looney Laws are accompanied by funny illustrations. Examples: "It is illegal for a woman to rifle her husband's pockets while he is asleep according to Maryland's code of laws," and "A law in Haley, Nebraska, states that a constable shall at all times remember his manners." The latter of these is even more humorous as the cartoon depicts a mugging in progress as the policeman politely taps the criminal on the shoulder and tips his hat as if to say, "Pardon me, good sir, but might I have a moment of your time?" 96 pages, B&W, cardstock cover, 8.5-in. x 11-in. Cover price $1.00.
