The first comics version of Paul Terry's animated cartoons was published by Timely, and sometimes featured early work by Stan Lee. Stars of the Terrytoons theatrical cartoon universe make their comics debut in this issue, including Gandy Goose and his sidekick Sourpuss the cat. Gandy joins the Army and turns basic training into a comedy of errors, but he means well. Tuxedo-wearing chef Frenchy Rabbit arrives in America and gets a job as a cook in a greasy-spoon cafe.
