Clough, Dan Noonan and Gaylord Du Bois (credited as Howard R. Garis). Dell's classic funny-animal series included early work by former Disney animator Walt Kelly, creator of beloved comic strip Pogo. In an early Pogo story by Kelly, Owl wants Pogo to be the assistant in his new knife-throwing act. In another Kelly story, Pogo's fishing pole breaks; luckily, he's still got his tail. Mooch the dog tries to bury a bone, in a story by John Stanley of Little Lulu fame.
