The deadly assassin Boomerang (last seen in Spectacular Spider-Man #67) is hired by Max Hammer, formerly Max Stryker the Kingpin of Crime who predates Wilson Fisk, to find Dr. Bruce Banner and convince him to use his experimental gamma-technology to cure Hammer's cancer.
