    Stories and art by E. C. Segar and Doc Winner. Hamburger Sharks and Sea Spinach. Dell's Large Feature Comic reprinted classic comic strips. This issue reprints Thimble Theatre, the original Popeye comic strip, from March 8, 1938 to August 13, 1938. This includes the first full story from Doc Winner, E.C. Segar's successor on the Thimble Theatre strip. After their escape from Goon island, Popeye and Olive are relying on the Jeep's uncanny sense of direction to get their tiny lifeboat back to dry land. But Wimpy keeps looking at the Jeep, and he's hungry.... In another story, Olive Oyl falls halfway down a hole, where she believes "demons" have set her to roast. Wimpy's not sure he believes her, but he saves her from the hole anyway. 8 1/2-in. x 11 1/2-in, 48 pages, B&W. Cover price $0.10.
