Written by Gary Phillips. Art by Jason Schaufele and James Burns. Cover byJason Schaufele.
Xal-Kor was created by Richard "Grass" Green, a pioneer in those days of fandom not only for giving us the Human Cat, but being back then one of, if not the only initially, African-American producing work for the fanzines. With his dynamic style clearly inspired by Jack "King" Kirby, Grass Green's Xal-Kor was a '70s Marvel Comics kind of superhero.
This one-shot delivers adventure, while being reminiscent of fandom's Golden Age, but with a modernistic undercurrent.
Softcover, 40 pages, B&W.

Neil Armstrong: First Man on the Moon! is a biography of the astronaut who became the first person to walk on the Moon in 1969. From earning a pilot's certificate at age 16 to being a test pilot for supersonic jets, Armstrong spent most of the early part of his life perfecting the skills he would need for the historic Moon landing.
Calm and collected under pressure, he was an ideal candidate for NASA's astronaut program, and is remembered for his famous words, spoken after he set foot on the Moon: "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."

This graphic retelling of the Apollo 11 moon-landing mission follows astronaut Michael Collins, commander of the lunar orbiter, to the far side of the moon.
When the Earth disappears behind the moon, Collins loses contact with his fellow astronauts on the moon's surface, with mission control at NASA, and with the entire human race, becoming more alone than any human being has ever been before. In total isolation for 21 hours, Collins awaits word that Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin have managed to launch their moon lander successfully to return to the orbiter, a feat never accomplished before and rendered more problematic by the fuel burn of their difficult landing.
In this singularly lonely and dramatic setting, Collins reviews the politics, science, and engineering that propelled the Apollo 11 mission across 239,000 miles of space to the moon.

1st printing. Written by Alex Irvine. Art and cover by Ben Bishop. When the Earth disappears behind the moon, astronaut Michael Collins loses contact with his fellow astronauts on the moon's surface, with mission control at NASA, and with the entire human race, becoming more alone than any human being has ever been before. In total isolation for 21 hours, Collins awaits word that Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin have managed to launch their moon lander successfully to return to the orbiter - a feat never accomplished before and rendered more problematic by the fuel burn of their difficult landing. In this singularly lonely and dramatic setting, Collins reviews the politics, science, and engineering that propelled the Apollo 11 mission across 239,000 miles of space to the moon. Hardcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 64 pages, 2C. Cover price $16.95.
