This self-described "very, very special, spectacular anniversary" issue didn't turn out as spectacular as it could have been, because over half of the story reprints Avengers 16 in edited form. Fortunately, the first six pages have an Avengers get-together in which George Perez gets to draw scads of members, past and present! It also sets up the next issue, which introduces the new line-up. "Avengers Assemble!" Script by Steve Englehart, pencils by Perez, inks by John Tartaglione and Duffy Vohland. The reprint, "The Old Order Changeth!" has a script by Stan Lee, layouts by Jack Kirby, and finished art by Dick Ayers. Cover price $0.25.
