1st printing. Written by Rick Kirkman. Art by Jerry Scott. Child-rearing reaches an entirely new level of delightfully messy chaos in Baby Blues: Wetter, Louder, Stickier. Battle-ready and perpetually exhausted, Daryl and Wanda team up to navigate a new front of challenges, like Zoe's enthusiasm over the "Smoochy Boyz" concert, deciphering baby Wren's attempts at language, and determining Hammie's place as a colon in the school play (whether "colon" refers to punctuation or digestion remains undetermined). Armed with "performance-enhancing substances" (a.k.a., chocolate donuts), the perfectly normal MacPherson family will surely bring a barrage of smiles and laughter to familiar fans with their perfectly chaotic lives. 1st printing. Story and art by Abner Dean. What Am I Doing Here? is a startling masterwork by one of the forgotten innovators of American comics. In 1945, after more than a decade as a commercial illustrator, Abner Dean invented a genre all his own: One might call it the Existential Gag Cartoon. He used the elegant draftsmanship and single-panel format of the standard cartoons of the day, but turned them to a deeper, stranger purpose. What Am I Doing Here? depicts a world at once alien and familiar, in which Dean's unclad Everyman searches for love, happiness, and the answers to life's biggest questions. Hardcover, 168 pages, full color. Mature Readers Cover price $22.95.

1st printing. In the summer of 1945, a great tide of battered soldiers began flowing back to the united States from around the globe. Though victorious, these exhausted men were nevertheless too grief-stricken over the loss of comrades, too guilt-ridden that they had survived, and too numbed by trauma to share in the countrys euphoria. Willie & Joe: Back Home brilliantly chronicles the struggles and disillusionments of these early postwar years and, in doing so, tells Bill Mauldins own extraordinary story of his journey home to a wife he barely knew and a son he had only seen in pictures. The drawings capture the texture and feel, the warp and woof, of this confusing time: the ubiquitous hats and cigarettes, the domestic rubs, the rising fear of another war, and new conflicts over Civil Rights, civil liberties, and free speech. Hardcover, 8-in. x 10-in., 288 pages, B&W. Cover price $29.99.

Volume 1-2 - 1st printing. Story and art by Bill Mauldin. Here, for the first time, Fantagraphics Books brings together Bill Mauldin's complete works from 1940 through the end of the World War II. This collection of over 600 cartoons, most never before reprinted, is more than the record of a great artist - it is an essential chronicle of America's citizen-soldiers from peace through war to victory. Mauldin's brilliant send-ups of officers were pure infantry, and the men loved it. Willie & Joe will be presented in a deluxe, beautifully designed two-volume slipcased edition of over 600 pages, with an introduction and running commentary by Mauldin scholar Todd DePastino; providing context for the drawings, pertinent biographical details of Mauldin's life, and occasional background on specific cartoons - such as the ones that made General Patton howl. Hardcover (2 Volumes in a Slipcase), 8 1/2-in. x 11-in., B&W. Cover price $65.00.
