This item is not in stock at MyComicShop. If you use the "Add to want list" tab to add this issue to your want list, we will email you when it becomes available.

1st printing. By James Eric Black. One of the most popular comic strips of the 1950s and the first to reference politics of the day, Walt Kelly's Pogo took on Joe McCarthy before the controversial senator was a blip on Edward R. Murrow's radar. The strip's satire was so biting, it was often relegated to newspaper editorial sections at a time when artists in other media were blacklisted for far less. Pogo was the vanguard of today's political comic strips, such as Doonesbury and Pearls Before Swine, and a precursor of the modern political parody of late night television. This comprehensive biography of Kelly reveals the life of a conflicted man and unravels the symbolism and wordplay of his art for modern readers. Softcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 228 pages, B&W. Cover price $39.99.

1st printing. Story and art by Abner Dean. What Am I Doing Here? is a startling masterwork by one of the forgotten innovators of American comics. He used the elegant draftsmanship and single-panel format of the standard cartoons of the day, but turned them to a deeper, stranger purpose. What Am I Doing Here? depicts a world at once alien and familiar, in which Dean's unclad Everyman searches for love, happiness, and the answers to life's biggest questions. Hardcover, 168 pages, full color. Mature Readers Cover price $22.95.

1st printing. Written by Jerry Scott and Jim Borgman. Art by Jim Borgman. What Was That All About? looks back at the 20-year whirlwind life of the Duncan family, the inhabitants of the popular, modern family cartoon Zits. Always spot-on, sometimes chaotic, and often messy comic moments are immortalized by the true-to-life give and take between Jeremy and his often befuddled parents. Authors Jerry Scott and Jim Borgman have sifted through the highlights (and some lowlights!) over the life of the strip and have created a unique behind-the-scenes, insightful view into the history of Zits. They have selected their all-time favorite cartoons to fill the collection along with special features. Hardcover, 9 1/2-in. x 12-in., 264 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $24.99.

Such are the laughs in What Would Wally Do? Softcover, 8 1/2. x 11-in., 224 pages, PC/PB&W Cover price $16.95.
