2nd and later printings. Story and art by Kate Beaton. Hark! A Vagrant is an uproarious romp through history and literature seen through the sharp, contemporary lens of New Yorker cartoonist and comics-sensation Kate Beaton. No era nor tome is left unscathed as Beaton rightly skewers the Western World's revolutionaries, leaders, sycophants, and suffragists while equally honing her wit on the hapless heroes, heroines, and villains of the best-loved fiction. In just four years, Beaton has taken the comics world by storm with her non sequiturs, cheeky comebacks, and irreverent punch lines. Hardcover, 8 1/2-in. x 7-in., 168 pages, B&W. Cover price $19.95.

1st printing. Story and art by Stephan Pastis. Puns. We know it's coming. The telltale signs are all there: the oddly specific setup, the unusual word choice, and, just visible out of the corner of our eye, the final panel of Stephan sitting at his desk awaiting the chastisement of one of his characters. Somehow the pun still manages to elicit a groan larger than we expected. Fortunately for us - and for Stephan's job security - there are more than just puns in I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream Because Puns Suck. The entire Pearls Before Swine crew returns in some of the strip's most raucous cartoons yet. Softcover, 128 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $14.99.

Tags: Sherman's Lagoon Treasuries (part 2), Comic Strip ReprintsPublished Sep 2006 by Andrews McMeel.$6.80
1st printing - Includes Years 2001–2005
Story and art by Jim Toomey.
After ten book collections and a treasury, great white shark Sherman and the Lagoonies celebrate 15 years of life under the sea with this new collection of creator Jim Toomey's daily cartoons and full-color Sundays. In an imaginary lagoon near the island of Kapupu in the South Pacific lives a group of nutty but sophisticated underwater creatures-complete with neuroses that rival those of humans (also known as "hairless beach apes"). Their wet world, oddly enough, is not so different from our own.
Sherman, a great white shark, is a typical guy, and Megan is his ruthless but nurturing wife. Rounding out the aquatic crew are Fillmore the turtle, geeky fish Ernest, and macho hermit crab Hawthorne. Salty old Captain Quigley, who lost his leg to Sherman years ago, is hell-bent on seeking revenge against the shark. Sherman and friends effectively reflect human behavior and occasionally must confront humans' encroachment on their unspoiled habitat. Activist groups have applauded this comic strip with a social conscience for promoting marine conservation.

Story and art by Jimmy Kugler. Compiled with an Introduction by Michael Kugler.
Near the end of World War II and after, a small-town Nebraska youth, Jimmy Kugler, drew more than a hundred double-sided sheets of comic strip stories. Over half of these six-panel tales retold the Pacific War as fought by "Frogs" and "Toads," humanoid creatures brutally committed to a kill-or-be-killed struggle. Michael Kugler reproduces the never-before-published comics of his father's adolescent imagination as a microhistory of American youth in that formative era.
Also included in Into the Jungle! A Boy's Comic Strip History of World War II are the likely comic book models for these stories and inspiration from news coverage in newspapers, radio, movies, and newsreels.
Softcover, 8-in. x 8-in., 224 pages, B&W.
