Volume 4 - 1st printing. A collection of original short stories based on the hit TV series created by Joss Whedon. "I can't be...just a person, I can't be helpless like that...." -- Buffy, "Helpless" At eighteen, each Slayer must face a terrifying trial: the Tento di Cruciamentum. This time-honored, albeit cruel, rite of passage forces each Watcher to drain the Slayer of all her physical powers and then send her to vanquish a powerful vampire using only her wits. When Buffy Summers underwent her Cruciamentum, she managed to defeat Kralik, a vampire who had been committed to a sanitarium as a human for torturing and murdering more than a dozen young women before he was turned. However, not all Slayers have been so cunning. Tales of the Slayer, Vol. 4 chronicles the Cruciamentum of eight earlier Slayers. From Prohibition Chicago to beatnik New York City, from the sideshows of a traveling carnival to a small Irish farm, from the fifteenth century to the twentieth, the Cruciamentum has tested the prowess of Slayers throughout history. Each of them has had to fight: for her job, for the lives of those she loved, and for her own existence.... Hardcover, 5 1/2-in. x 8 1/2-in., 272 pages, Text Only.

1st printing. Story and art by Gilbert Hernandez. Love and Rockets cartoonist Gilbert Hernandez returns with Bumperhead, a companion book to Marble Season. Gilbert's new book follows Bobby, a young slacker who narrates his life as it happens but offers very little reflection on the events that transpire. Bobby lives in the moment exclusively, and is incapable of seeing the world outside of his experiences. He comes of age in the 1970s, making a rapid progression through that era's different subcultures; in a short period of time he segues from a stoner glam-rocker to a drunk rocker to a speed-freak punk. He drifts in and out of relationships with friends, both male and female. Life zooms past him. Hernandez's approach captures the numbness and raw undirected anger and passion of a young man; a young man who waits for life to happen to him, not noticing all the while that it's happening. Hardcover, 8-in. x 11-in., 128 pages, B&W. Cover price $21.95.

On the first day of attending this school of her dreams, the spunky freshman-buoyed on the native Peachtreeian Full Ride Scholarship-discovers her scholarship... is defunct. Rather than take out loans her parents can't afford, she uncovers a lesser-known scholarship in the PICA financial-aid policy book. Volume 1 - 1st printing. Story and art by Paul Kirchner. The bus comic strips were first published in 1978 in Heavy Metal magazine, where they appeared regularly for seven years. In six to eight mostly wordless panels, former Wally Wood's assistant Paul Kirchner takes readers through a tightly rendered surrealist world as experienced by a rotund bald man and a forever returning bus. In the bus, fire hydrants come alive, buses chose to stray away from the law and the distant horizon might be just an arm's length away. In the 25 years since its original publication in 1987, this forgotten gem had never been republished. Hardcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 96 pages, B&W. Cover price $25.00.

Volume 1 - 2nd and later printings. Story and art by Paul Kirchner. The bus comic strips were first published in 1978 in Heavy Metal magazine, where they appeared regularly for seven years. From the simple, mundane premise of a man waiting for his bus, the strips quickly slip into a weird yet hilarious world where cities are surreal labyrinths and bewilderment is just around the corner. Six to eight wordless panels is often all it takes Kirchner to display his sense for the bizarre. In the bus, fire hydrants come alive, buses chose to stray away from the law, the distant horizon might be just an arm's length away and the whole world might just turn out to be a two-dimensional panel messing with our sense of depth. Hardcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 96 pages, B&W. Cover price $22.00.

Volume 2 - 1st printing. Story and art by Paul Kirchner. Between 1974 and 1986, Paul Kirchner created several comic strips such as Dope Rider and the bus. In 2012, French publisher Tanibis published an anthology of the bus strips that was nominated at the Angouleme International festival, proving that even a 30-year-old public transportation vehicle can take part in a Grand Prix. In 2013, Kirchner decided to relaunch the bus. His new ideas are on par with the original strips, proving that his creativity didn't end with the 80s. The crazy cartoon logic of the original strips is still present, and wackiness is the norm. Hardcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 56 pages, B&W. Cover price $16.00.
