A beautifully illustrated story from Carlson, whose work wouldn't look out of place on the rack next to Dr. Seuss or 70's undergrounds! Carlson (who also illustrated the original dust jacket for Gone With the Wind!) was the principal artist for Jingle Jangle, bringing a lively and surreal aesthetic to the title. This story is a fantastic showcase for Carlson's style as Sawdust Sam the pirate takes a roundabout route to the treasure he seeks. Pencil and ink on 6 sheets of comic art board. 13" x 20 3/4".
