Continued from last issue... The Legion of the Weird calls on "Om, Lord of the Netherworlds, Emperor of Chaos and Destruction." The spirit(?) resurrects Mistress Wycker from her melted puddle. She's still determined to kill Ace, and morphs into a blonde beauty. The Legion has other options - weather, a mystic blade - but the Egyptian sorceror calls for a mummy from a local museum, Tukamenon the Undying... The Challengers wait for trouble, studying and weight training and horsing around. Red talks via radio to his kid brother, Tino, who's beseiged by teeny-bopper fans... Tukamenon the mummy confronts his master Kaftu. Yes, he's bound to serve, but if forced to kill, he's free of the curse and can kill Kaftu! Kaftu fetches a magical ruby and orders the mummy to find and crush the Challengers... Seeking the Legion, the Challs fly into an airport and meet Tino. Girls flock to Tino and everyone makes TV news. Soon the mummy crashes the Challs' hotel room. Kaftu aims the ruby to blind Tino, then both flee. Red is furious... At the hospital, a doctor suggests an experimental eye transplant from a blood relative. Red donates an eye. Recovering, Tino can see - the mummy burst in! Challs battle the mummy as Red is rushed out on a gurney - except his nurse, Mistress Wycker in disguise, stabs Red with a scalpel! The brawling mummy is zapped by an X-ray machine that breaks his curse: he runs to punish Kaftu. The Challs find Red bleeding and Tino kidnapped. How to find him? Red marvels: even separated, he can "see" what Tino sees! Continued... |
