Synopsis | The heroes gather at Mr. Fantastic's request in order to discuss the new threat that seems to be facing them; Hawkeye is on the way to the meeting when he is attacked by an evil duplicate of himself; Spider-Man steps in to help but is brought down by Iron Man; Galactus and his cosmic allies arrive on earth under the watchful eyes of Dr. Doom and Kang; Thanos and the Infinity Watch travel to the palace of Death to gaze into the Infinity Well and get the scoop on the Magus; Warlock learns that the Magus is the evil side of himself that was purged when he took up the Infinity Gauntlet; The Magus tips Death off as to her visitors and she arrives to drive them off; As Mr. Fantastic explains to earth's heroes that he was attacked by a duplicate that tried to replace him, Iron Man and Wolverine arrive and Wolvie claims that both Reed and Tony are fakes; With distrust among their ranks, the heroes begin to battle but Mr. Fantastic halts the fracas by detonating a Gamma Bomb and blowing everybody up. |
