Supporting Characters: Police Commissioner Dolan, Ellen Dolan (Police Commissioner's daughter),Ebony (Previously Appeared in Spiritman #1?, Appears next in the next Spirit story this issue), Torchy Tyler (First and Only Known Appearance to Date)
Synopsis Spirit, Ellen & Commissioner Dolan are at the Club Kazombo and witness a performance by Torchy Tyler, Sweet Singer of the Wild West. At the end of the performance, Torchy is called away to meet Scorzone who needs him to distract the patrons while they rob the club. ellen runs into them and a confrontation ensues. Torchy, refusing to hit a woman, smashes his guitar across one of the gang members head and is promptly shot and wounded by another. The Spirit and the Commissioner track down the gang and capture them. Apparently Torchy was being threatened by the gang to help them because, as it turns out, he was married with with children. It seems Torchy's manager had told Torchy that it would hurt his career in the eyes of his younger fans if it got out he was married

Synopsis Fleeing from the police, Bozo, Hyacinth & Buttsy see an ad in the newspaper from Mrs J Stackhouse for a butler, maid and a gardener. To hide from the police they get the jobs. Mrs Stackhouse then plans a party. Fearing they will be discovered, they kidnap Mrs Stackhouse and send out notes to the party goers that she had gone to Miami and the party was off. Brenda gets the note and realizes that it is off-season for Miami so she decides to investigate as Lady Luck. Soon she confronts the crooks. During the battle, Bozo is apparently accidentally killed when an ax is tossed at Lady Luck by Buttsy hits Bozo instead. She soon defeats them all and frees Mrs Stackhouse

Synopsis Mr. Mystic fortells trouble at the El Kasba Night Club so he drops by for a visit. He sees a friend, singer Leni Lee. Before he can finishing reading her palm, she has to leave to perform on stage. Mr. Mystic reads death in her palm. Leni's ex-boyfriend, Bror Brag confronts her in her dressing room about her knowledge of his criminal secrests. She tells him she has told no one and wants Bror out of her life. Bror does not believe her. Half an hour later, Bror sends in his moll, Eval Lagal to talk to her some more. Eval finds Leni's body and is soon accused of murdering her because one of her cigarettes were found ont he floor. But, Mr. Mystic figures out that it was really Bror whom did it thirty minutes prior. The cigarette fell into an area where Leni had spilled perfume was and did not get wet. Therefore it had to have been spilled early and given time to dry up, just around the time Bror was in the room

Synopsis Miss Amelia hires Mr. Dory to kill Bob Swidell because she was jilted by him for Ellen Dolan. The scene shifts to Swidell's office where he tells Mr. Grame that he refuses to defend Mr. Guffin because he had cheated the government on his taxes. Bob then gets a call from Ellen whom told him, after reading his letter he wrote to her about the feelings he had for her, that she only cares for The Spirit and couldn't love him. Stunned, Swidell leaves the office with Grame & Guffin following. Swidell is later found dead in an apparent suicide drowning. Spirit, Ebony and Commissioner Dolan goes and checks on it. Quickly they discover that it was murder and not suicide. arriving on the scene, at about the same time, is Dory, Grame, Guffin & Amelia. They soon are questioned and a police officer discovers a gun under Dory's coat. Commissioner Dolan recognizes the finger prints to some unsolved murders. Spirit & Dolan capture him. As he begins to confess, he clutches his chest and dies of an apparent heart attack. The rest are then let go. Grame & Guffin confront Miss Amelia that they know she had hired Dory to kill Swidell. She then confesses to them and is confronted by Ellen & soon, The Spirit & Ebony (whom had been following them). The Spirit shows them a blow dart needle that is the same one used by a man named Costrill and his dart gun of his invention. It appears Grame & Guffin had defended Costrill as an insane inventor in the past. The guns invented were never found until a dart was found in Dory's heart. Another is shot at that moment into Grame, giving the illusion that he too dies of another heart attack. Miss Amelia says she saw Guffin do it. Ebony checks Amelia's purse and finds a cigarette with a blow gun center to shoot the darts from. She then tries to shoot the Spirit and misses. Ellen then stops her. As it turns out Amelia had gotten the guns and darts from Bob Swidell for safe keeping from his partner because he did not trust him. Instead she uses them herself so someone else would then take the blame. She tries to take one herself but is stopped again by Ellen. Guffin at the end is pleading with The Spirit that he will confess to income tax fraud only if they keep Miss Amelia away from him

Synopsis Count DiChange bumps into Killer McCann (whom claims to be an ex-welterweight champ of the world) on the street and accidently knocks him out. Thinking he will be a great fighter, he offers to be his manager & trainer. Lady Luck visits the Count and discovers McCann to be a phony and kicks him out. McCann meets a gentleman on the street offering to help him get revenge. He give McCann a gun and and offer of $1000. Not able to pass up on such an offer, McCann storms back in and shoots at Lady Luck only to discover it is a toy gun. After being kicked out again, he meets the stranger again and receives his check only to find it is made of rubber! Soon a gang of thugs charge onto the scene to kill Lady Luck. The gentleman gives them a stick of dynamite to help. Seeing trouble, McCann steps in to stop the events. Her grabs the wick of the stick and it proceedes to explode, ripping off most of their clothes. The thugs run off. McCann then asks the gentleman who he is. He tells him, he is the April Fool. Lady Luck tells the reader that she thought for a moment there would be a real story here. Instead she points the blame to the real culprit, a picture of Klaus Nordling hiding behind his artists table

Synopsis Mr. Mystic and Chowderhead decide to go fishing. The places they visit or too crowded, off limits to trespassers or polluted. They see a boy traveling with a number of fish. He directs them to a great spot where they do well. Later they see the boy to find that his fish was stolen by two fisherman thugs. They track them down as they are seen throwing more trash onto the stream filled with refuge already. Mr. Mystic has the boy and find the local game warden. He then changes Chowderhead into a bear to chase the men up a tree until the warden arrives to capture them
