Synopsis | Debbie is hired as secretary to handsome personnel manager Tom Chaney at Barnstorm's Department Store. Shortly after, she dates and falls in love with co-worker Rick Matthews. Others believe the two will marry but Debbie learns Rick has just given his engagement ring to a girl at the perfume counter. She's heartbroekn, but puts on a gay face and dates Tom. They fall in love, though Debbie is afraid of being hurt again and remains cool. When she learns Rick has broken his engagement, she wonders if she still loves him. At a company picnic, Rick tries to seduce her but she realizes she loves Tom and flees. Tom is waiting for her and the two pledge their love. |

Synopsis | While en route to her aunt's place, Grace pulls into a motel for the night. Her next-door neighbor Terry takes her to dinner and his post-prandial lovemaking leads Grace to believe she's in love with him. When Grace discovers he left while she slept, she feels used. At Aunt Mary's, she is haunted by Terry and wants to forget him. She dates Paul. They go sailing on a moonlit night and Paul attempts to force himself upon her. Still in love with Terry, she dives overboard and swims for shore but suffers a cramp, loses consciousness, and sinks. She wakes in hospital and finds Terry is an intern at the hospital. He says he left a note for her with the motel clerk but Grace admits she was so distraught that she drove off without inquiring. The two pledge undying love. |

Synopsis | Tess and John become engaged but Tess is anxious about meeting his domineering mother, a wealthy and celebrated Long Island hostess. One day during the week that follows, Mike passes her on the street and invites her to go fishing. She does and they fall in love but Tess holds him at arm's length until she breaks her engagement to John. Mike and Tess then walk off together. |
