Synopsis | The famous Liberty Train, having been on display at Gotham Central Station, heads out of town on its cross nation run, accompanied by U.S. jet fighters flying interference for it. However, as it exits a tunnel, the engineer discovers that the train's cars are missing, and no trace can be found. Later, in Gotham's office of the F.B.I., Black Canary hears the report of this and radios the JSA members to meet her at HQ. But when she arrives, no one is there! Elsewhere in Gotham, the new Injustice Society of America is meeting, and laughing over newspaper reports that the JSA is hot on the case of the train's disappearance....funny since the JSA members are now servants of the Injustice Society! Back at JSA HQ, Black Canary hears a moan from under the meeting room's table, and she discovers Harlequin. But before any substantial conversation can occur, the Icicle enters and freezes the pair with his cold-ray gun, and takes them back to the HQ of the Injustice Society where they to have their minds erased! Elsewhere, as the JSA members slave for the Wizard's new group, the Injustice Society makes plans to steal America's greatest symbols: the Washington Monument, the Freedom Bell, Plymouth Rock and Old Ironsides. At the same time, as the rays of the mind-eraser begin to bathe Black Canary and the Harlequin, the Harlequin tells Black Canary how she was invited to become a member of the new Injustice Society and how she volunteered to put the JSA out of the way so that the other members could succeed in their plans. She followed the Atom to JSA HQ, notifying the members of the Wizard's plans, but before the Justice Society could act, the Sportsmaster entered and exploded one of his lacrosse balls, knocking the JSA unconscious, then taking them to Injustice Society HQ, where they had their minds erased to do the bidding of their new masters! As she finishes her tale, Harlequin spots several JSA members and uses her glasses to hypnotize them into returning to their true selves. They are released from the mind eraser, the other JSA members are snapped out of their trance, and the members vow to stop the Injustice Society before they can succeed in their quests. |

Synopsis | Hawkman heads to the South Boston Navy Yards where Old Ironsides is docked, and sees sailors trying to save a boat full of dummies....a clever ruse by the Sportsmaster to divert attention from his stealing the ship. Hawkman swoops to the attack and overcomes the villain when the Wizard shows up, snaps his fingers, putting the Feathered Fury back into his mind eraser state, and sails the ship away. Meanwhile, at Liberty Hall in Independence City, the citizens of that town have gathered in masse to protect the Freedom Bell from the Injustice Society, when strange music suddenly makes everyone want to dance. The music, played by the infamous Fiddler, works like a charm until Dr. Mid-Nite and Wonder Woman show up and seemingly put an end to the fiendish fiddle. But the Fiddler suddenly recovers, plays a few notes [which causes the Freedom Bell to fall on top the duo, trapping them], and he pumps gas inside to overcome them. Unfortunately for the Fiddler, the bell is cracked and the JSA pair survive the effects of the gas by breathing fresh air through that crack! Still, the Fiddler has been warned that, as a last resort, to snap his fingers to put the JSA members back under their hypnotic trance, which he does....and all three then drive away in the Fiddler's Fiddlemobile with the bell in tow. At the same time in New England, the Huntress has managed to use circus elephants to load Plymouth Rock into a truck, but as she begins to drive away, the Flash and Atom show up. They overcome the Huntress and tie her up....but she jumps onto a loading platform hard enough to cause a snapping noise, and putting the JSA duo back into a trance. Finally, at the Naval yards near Washington D.C., the Icicle has secured the use of a giant dirigible, powered by a ram-jet engine, to haul away the Washington Monument. As he loops a cable around the monument, he also snares the Green Lantern, and leaves the giant airship long enough to try and subdue the Emerald Crusader. But G.L.'s power ring is too much for the Icicle's cold-ray gun, and soon falls victim to the All-Star. Unfortunately, Green Lantern snaps his fingers unknowingly and places himself back into the control of the Injustice Society. |

Synopsis | Unaware of the tragic fate of the JSA members, Black Canary and Harlequin have entered the tunnel where the Freedom Train disappeared and discover the train's hiding place. But before they can do anything, the Wizard shows up and shocks the two into unconsciousness. When they awaken, they are prisoners with the rest of the JSA members in an underground chamber. The Wizard informs the other Injustice Society members that all the JSA members must be disposed of, and arrange that feat, then head outside to an abandoned quarry where all of their conquests are being stored. They decide to let the American people decide which heist is the greatest, and the Injustice Society would then be led by the criminal winning that vote. So the Icicle uses the Navy ram-jet airship to hoist the mammoth Gotham Stadium, full of people to see a ball game, into the air and taken to the quarry to vote on the "greatest" crime. But the fans refuse to go along and rush the villains. Meanwhile, in the underground mine where the JSA have been placed, the Harlequin and Black Canary bring realization to the Justice Society members of who they really are, bringing them out of their trance. They rush to the quarry and capture the Injustice Society members after a brief battle. In the confusion, the Harlequin slips away....but at JSA HQ, Hawkman recommends Black Canary for JSA membership, and she is accepted into the group. |
