Synopsis | Betty and Veronica find out Archie and Reggie are going fishing and decide they want to go along. The only problem is the boys don't want to take them fishing and they leave the girls behind. The girls don't give up that easy and follow the boys to the lake. Taking a row boat to the boys fishing spot the girls drop anchor and start diving in the water,making alot of noise and scaring off the fish. Archie and Reggie know when they're beat so they give up the shore and get in the boat with Betty and Veronica,thinking they'll find bigger fish in the middle of the lake. When they find a spot in deep water Archie has Betty drop the anchor,which she does,right through the bottom of the boat.They abandon ship and start to tread water as a speed boat arrives.The men in the boat ask if the boys can swim? Archie says yes and the girls can also. Upset that he answered for them the girls get into the boat and leave for the yacht club dance with their rescueers. |

Synopsis | In class Mrs.Grundy has jughead remove his hat and put it on a hook in the back of the room. She then asks him a question which he answers correctly. Jughead smiles proudly and she tells him not to get a swelled head. On the way home Jughead starts to wonder if a persons head really could swell up with knowledge. Archie tells Charlie he has a idea. The next day Archie reminds Jughead to hang up his hat. After another correct answer Jughead asks Archie if his head is swelling.Then he puts on his hat to find it is now to small. Finding out Archie and Charlie don't notice any difference Jughead leaves. He sits down on a wall, removes his hat and starts to worry his head will become huge. Calming himself down he puts his hat back on and it fits again. He heads off thinking it was his imagination. The next day,after taking off his hat, another question. This time he's wrong and when he puts on his hat it falls down over his eyes.Asking if Archie and Charlie notice anything now, they reply no.Felling sick Jughead goes to a doctor and explains his dilema."It's Friday" the doctor tells him. "Stay in bed over the weekend and get some rest." On saturday Charlie looks in on his "dying" friend and tells him what Archie has been up to. Later Archie arrives to find out what jughead is leaving him in his will. Argrily Jughead decides to give it to him right there and slams a pot over Archies head and holds him down as he starts to beat on it with drumsticks. |

It isn't until the night of the dance that Slats finds out it's Hortense she was speaking for, not Laurie. |
